Services & Rates

**Please see below about reimbursement or feel free to ask me how reimbursement works. Each insurance is different, so I will also encourage you to talk to your insurance provider directly.

**Please also see the Good Faith Estimate Information as part of the Public Health Service Act (2799B-6) on the forms page under the “About” tab

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Individual counseling sessions are one-on-one sessions between you and your therapist. Adolescent and adult sessions are typically 50 - 60 minutes (“therapy hour”) in duration.

Adult Individual Counseling: $130

Child counseling: Each child is different. Some children are able to withstand a typical “therapy hour” (50 minute sessions); whereas others may only need 30 minutes.

30-minute Sessions: $65

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy sessions are typically 50 - 60 minutes. The same applies as above (refer to individual counseling adolescents, adults, and children).

1 hour EMDR therapy - $130

Some individuals prefer to have extended sessions for EMDR specifically. If this is something agreed upon with your therapist you can expect the following pay rates:

90 minute EMDR therapy: $195
2 hour EMDR therapy: $260

*some individuals prefer to attend EMDR sessions bi-weekly with an extended duration (e.g. bi-weekly, with 2 hour sessions). If this is something you are interested in, or later decide you would prefer, please talk with your therapist. If you would like even longer duration of EMDR - please consult with your therapist.

TELETHERAPY

*Currently only accepting teletherapy clients!*
Teletherapy is conducted through an online platform that is safe and secure. Your therapist can provide you a link in which you partake in counseling through video and audio.

Benefit of teletherapy: Even if you are feeling ill, are on vacation, roads are bad due to ice/snow, etc. you are still able to utilize your counseling resources! Teletherapy has been around for a while, but after COVID-19 happened, therapists quickly learned how to navigate teletherapy and provide quality services to individuals.

Bonus: you can even be in your PJ’s or bed, or just in the comfort of your home or car for counseling. :)

ACCEPTED FORM OF PAYMENTS

  • Cash, Debit, Credit

  • HSA / FSA

  • PayPal

  • Venmo

BENEFITS OF SELF-PAY / PRIVATE PAY VERSUS INSURANCE

  • Your personal information stays completely confidential! Your insurance company does not have access to your records, your mental health diagnosis, type of treatment, or whether or not your are receiving treatment.

  • You can decide the frequency and duration of your treatment. You are in control of this versus your insurance company trying to limit your sessions or make you justify receiving treatment after a period of time.

  • You don’t have to deal with coverage changes, or failures to cover treatment (Yes, this does happen sometimes). Your insurance company will never deny a claim or suddenly fail to cover services after a policy change.

  • Payments are predictable & easy to budget. No surprise payments or changes due to unmet deductibles.

  • If you still prefer to use your insurance - please refer to the following section “Insurance?”

INSURANCE?

“Do you accept insurance?”

Short answer: No, but some insurance accepts me. Let me explain.

Mental health counseling is typically covered by most insurance companies now. Some insurance companies will reimburse you, as the payer, for attending mental health counseling.

How it works: Your therapist can provide you what is called a “Superbill” after you pay for your services the day of your appointment. Once you receive the Superbill, you can submit to your insurance (some have portals online for easy submittal!), and you can expect your insurance to send you a check in the mail for reimbursement. Each insurance is different though; you will want to talk to your insurance ahead of time if this is the route you wish to choose. Some insurance companies will provide 100% reimbursement; whereas others will only do partial reimbursement. Again, please talk to your insurance provider. :)
